Day 1: Pen Test Planning and Methodology
Engagement planning and scoping; rules of engagement and legal considerations; penetration testing standards (PTES, OWASP, NIST SP 800-115); and methodology framework selection.
Day 2: Reconnaissance and Vulnerability Assessment
Passive and active reconnaissance techniques; network scanning and enumeration; vulnerability identification and validation; and threat modeling.
Day 3: Exploitation Techniques
Network exploitation; web application attacks (OWASP Top 10); system and service exploitation; privilege escalation; and lateral movement techniques.
Day 4: Post-Exploitation, Reporting, and Program Management
Post-exploitation activities; evidence collection and documentation; professional report writing with risk-based recommendations; managing pen test programs; and quality assurance.
Day 5: Capture-the-Flag Exercise and Certification Exam
Comprehensive capture-the-flag penetration testing exercise applying all learned skills; and the PECB Certified Lead Pen Test Professional certification examination.
