This advanced course equips participants with the expertise to lead the implementation of an asset management system based on ISO 55001. Develop skills in strategic asset management planning, lifecycle management, risk-based decision making, and the optimization of asset performance and value delivery.

Course Modules
Day 1: Introduction to ISO 55001 and AMS Implementation Planning
ISO 55001 requirements overview; the ISO 55000 family; organizational context for asset management; understanding stakeholder needs and expectations; AMS scope, policy, and objectives; strategic asset management plan (SAMP); and implementation project planning.
Day 2: Asset Lifecycle Management and Planning
Asset lifecycle stages (create/acquire, utilize, maintain, renew/dispose); lifecycle cost analysis; asset acquisition and commissioning processes; operation and maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, condition-based); renewal and rehabilitation planning; and disposal/decommissioning.
Day 3: Asset Risk Management and Decision Making
Asset risk assessment methodologies; criticality analysis and asset hierarchy; risk-based maintenance strategies; investment decision frameworks; capital expenditure planning; cost-benefit analysis for asset decisions; and asset performance monitoring.
Day 4: Asset Information Management and Operational Controls
Asset information requirements; asset registers and management information systems; data quality and integrity; operational planning and control; outsourced asset management activities; management of change; and documented information management.
Day 5: Performance Evaluation, Improvement, and Certification Exam
Asset performance indicators and KPIs; monitoring, measurement, and analysis; internal audit of the AMS; management review; nonconformity and corrective action; continual improvement of asset management; certification preparation; and the Lead Implementer certification exam.
